Coloring Easter Eggs!

Easter Eggs-Fun to color but not to eat! from Ryan Montgomery on Vimeo.

We are getting ready for Spring Break! For me and AB that will start Friday! I'm really looking forward to a four day week. March has been tough, with all of those five day school weeks! lol-Especially following the month of February which featured five snow days and a few two-hour delays not to mention a few holidays off as well. Today, we colored some Easter eggs. It was a lot of fun. Annabelle was so excited to get started... She was jumping around the kitchen singing her Easter egg song. Lately, when she's doing something that makes her really happy she'll make up a little song to express her joy. Thursday, we were at "the eagle" (Giant Eagle) where Annabelle sang, "AB is at the Eagle, AB is at the Eagle and she is eating a cookie!" She sings it loud and proud until she realizes others are watching and then she will get really shy. Today it was, "Easter eggs, eggs, eggs, AB will color!" hee hee! After cooking the eggs and cooling them we were ready to get started.
YAY!
AB's Cheeeeese face!

Big Girl Bed

As many of you know I use this blog as my baby book in a way, to keep track of all things of importance... I also use it to write little things for AB-so when she is bigger she'll always have a place to look back and remember. Tonight I wrote AB a letter about moving into a big girl bed. When I was out buying the bedding it didn't dawn on me, but it's been a tear jerker since tucking her in.

Dear AB,
Putting away the bottles was the true first sign that you weren't quite a baby any more. I was sad that day. :-( But it wasn't until I tucked you into your big girl bed that I knew for sure... You will always be my baby, but you're not a baby any more. You have turned into quite a big girl seemingly over night. I don't know where the time has gone... Walking into your room and seeing a bed in place of your crib is going to take some getting used to. It's funny, your dad and I have listened tonight, more intensely, to the monitor than we have in a very long time.
Your daddy disappeared up the stairs more than a half hour ago... When I came up to take a peek I saw him curled up next to you. He too is in disbelief of how quickly you've grown. It was a sweet image that I plan to store away in that special place in my heart, so I can share it with you when you need to know just how much you are loved. My heart is chanting, "slow down AB...You're growing way too fast!" Yet it doesn't seem to help... Tonight, though, as I stood in your doorway watching you and your daddy laying in your big girl bed time did stop. It is in these moments, when time stands still, that you realize the true gifts of parenthood... It's in these moments that I Cherish every second of your sweet life, and feel blessed to be your mommy. I love being your mommy...

Sweet Dreams in Your Big Girl Bed...See you in
the morning,

I'll love you forever and for always- Mommy
