Another Bedtime Funny

Tonight as I was getting ready to leave Annabelle's room she started the 'stall'! Which is a whole lot of "Mommy, I have to tell you something!" "Mommy, I need to go potty." "Mommy, can you tell me another story?" "Mommy, where is my lip gloss?" Tonight she said as I was walking out of her door, "Mommy WAIT! I have to tell you something IMPORTANT!" This I had to hear... So I said, "Ok AB, but this is the last thing..." She said, "It's really important. Did you know that Freddie has an ascot? He wears it on his shirt... BUT in the dinosaur Scooby, Freddie doesn't have his ascot on!!!" Thank you for that Scooby Doo fun fact Annabelle!

Scooby-Doo!

Annabelle just loves Scooby Doo. It is very funny to watch her play right now. She is deep in her own imagination. Mostly she pretends with her Fred and Daphene action figures! "Here Mommy, you play Fredie, I'll be Daphene." She gets the Scooby theme song in her head and will just sing it out, loud and proud for anyone who will listen. :-) Makes my heart smile.

For quite some time it has been a bed time requirement for AB to hear a story about Annabelle and the Gang. Something to the affect of Fredie getting in trouble (tied to a chair with rope-is her request most of the time) and Annabelle rescues him in the end!! Tonight at bed time, again the request was made and I told her a Scooby story. After she told me and Nick to sit on the step to her room while she told us a story. We were entertained by TWO Scooby Stories and they were wonderful! Both involved the quote, "Geepers! Where's Fredie!" (says-Daphene)... It was so sweet listening to her tell a tale. We hid our chuckles well and looked on with adoring eyes. Nick can't get over how smart she is. She can retell the stories like a pro, embellishing here and there to make the story her own.

We had no idea what we were missing before being parents!!! What an entertaining Monday night!!

12 More Days Until We Leave For Spring Break!

Poor Daddy!
He is working the week of Spring Break and can't get away, but being the sweet man that he is he wanted AB and I to go and enjoy the sunshine with Grandpa Newman and YaYa. We leave in 12 more days and we can't wait. My friend Angela is coming along with us as well. I am excited for her to see where Nick and I were married and I plan to take her to Florence to meet my friends there and visit my old school. We have been out enjoying the first signs of spring whenever the weather permits. Yesterday we met Noah, Josie, Emily and Moe at The North Market for lunch and then went to Northam Park. It was a lovely sunny spring day. It's just so nice to have so many places within a 10 minute drive. :-) Upper Arlington feels like a quaint little town, yet it's so close to the hustle and bustle of the 'big' city of Columbus! We are so happy here!

Annabelle's First Trip without Mommy and Daddy!

Annabelle is in Florida, having a blast with Mimzey and Dano! She left Tuesday afternoon and doesn't return until Sunday. We, of course, miss her very much and can't wait for her to come home, yet we know how important it is for her to have time with her Grandmas and Grandpas with out her parents there to supervise every situation. :-) On the day Annabelle left we went for breakfast as a family and then to the airport. We gave AB lots of warning that we were not coming along on the trip and that she would have so much fun with her Mimzey and Dano...but we weren't exactly sure how she would react. Thankfully she was eager and willing to head through security with Mimzey, leaving her Mommy and Daddy standing behind in tears.... (none that Annabelle could see of course.) Nick scooped her up and gave her the biggest hug and in the midst of the hug she said "Daddy, I'm coming back!!" When she gave her final kisses and hugs she headed through security: waving, smiling, blowing kisses and saying, "I love you!" It was tough to say good-bye but I do look forward to saying hello when she arrives home on Sunday. Below are some pictures at the airport. We miss you Annabelle! Come home safe and sound. Mommy and Daddy cannot wait!
