First Weekend On The Boat

We love spending time with Mimzey and Dano on the lake. Sahara is especially a fan of looking out over the lake with the wind in her face.
Sahara was pretty scared the first time we put her on the boat. If I remember correctly, Nick had to lift her aboard the first time we were out with her. Now, she can't wait to jump aboard. This is an example of most of Sahara's experiences since we've had her. She was such a timid girl, scared of most people... She now greets others and can't wait for our next adventure. She has come such a long way.
Annabelle can't get enough of her big furry friend. Sahara and Annabelle are nearly the same size and are best friends. Each day when we get home from school, Annabelle hurries upstairs to "rescue" Sahara from her kennel. She also feeds Sahara each day, both dog food and, of course, whatever she doesn't feel like finishing from her own dinner plate.
How nice to have such a loyal best friend who doesn't say much, but is always there to listen.
Daddy bought Annabelle her first fishing pole over the weekend. It was so sweet watching the two of them sitting at the front of the boat. Nick is such a patient teacher. He will have the opportunity to teach our AB so many new things...
There are only 7 more days more days of driving to Pickerington for school. At the start of the year I wasn't sure we would make it all the way to the end of the school year. Around December I started to doubt it all over again. Now, all of the sudden it's June and we're just a few days away from our goal of me staying home with Annabelle. I am very excited about what our lives will look like. I know that it will be an adventure, as life always is. I CAN'T WAIT!

12 MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL!!!!!

There are only 12 more days of school. I can't believe how fast the 2nd half of the year has gone. I also can't believe how ready I am to move into full-time mommy mode! I'm always excited for that last day of school to come so I can enjoy summer vacation, but this is different. I don't think it will really hit me until the end of August when I'm not preparing my classroom for the upcoming school year. Instead I'll be preparing Annabelle for Preschool! :-)
This month has been a wet one up until this weekend. We had so much fun being outside from breakfast to lunch and lunch to dinner and then back out again until bath time!
Below are some pictures of our weekend in the sun! The horsey swing was a birthday gift from Nana and Pap. We got it hung in the tree Friday night. I told Nick, "I'll climb the tree, but I'll need your help handing me up the things for attaching the swing." He actually laughed, doubting my ability to get up into a tree!! Well I showed him, that is until I wanted to get down... I was hanging from a limb with my feet dangling about 4 feet from the ground too afraid to let myself drop! LOL- He had to assist, without comment would have been too much to ask. He said, "What would you have done if I wasn't here!? You would have had to call the fire department! Just like a cat. No problem getting up, but you can't get down!"
Either way Walker (Annabelle's name for our new tire swing) is up and AB couldn't be happier!
Thanks Nana and Pap!

Annabelle and Walker :-)
Annabelle has been very into picking her own outfits! This is a perfect one for horseback riding! Those Cowgirl boots are the perfect touch!

We grilled out and Grandma and Grandpa Newman's house. Kailyn and Annabelle play so well together! They are a funny pair!

Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day was a treat! Well, everyday that I get to spend in the sun with Annabelle is a true treat. After breakfast, Daddy and Annabelle told me of their plan to take me to the flower shop to pick out some pretty flowers that Annabelle and I could plant. Because Annabelle was up at 6:30 (Daddy got up with her so I could sleep in) she was tired early. She did an early nap. When she woke up we decided to head to the zoo for a bit.
We saw the elephants, which are Annabelle's favorite and the Polar Bears which are my favorite and then headed back toward Upper Arlington to pick out flowers and get some ice cream!
It was a wonderful day. I never knew how much fun being a mom could be. Just when you think you know what's coming next, you're thrown with a comment or gesture of kindness that makes you know that children are watching and learning something new everyday. Annabelle is a spunky, sweet, smart little girl of three!
I am so lucky to be her Mommy!
Thank you Annabelle for a wonderful day of fun!
