The Heart In My Tummy

Little AB and I were driving to the library last night for story time when she said, pointing to her tummy,
"Mommy, right here in my tummy, is my heart." I said "Really!?"
AB: "Well if I told you that I didn't love you-your heart in your tummy will be broken."
Me: "Yes, it would make me sad if you told me that you didn't love me...."
AB: "And if you told me that you didn't love/"
Me: "AB I would NEVER EVER say those words EVER because I will always love you!
AB: "I not saying that Mommy! I was just saying that if you said that my heart in my tummy would be broken and I would cry!"
Me: "Well it's a good thing that I love you more than anything and I would never ever say anything different. You are my sweet girl!"
AB: "I love you too, Mommy, so your heart in your tummy will not break."

What an amazing conversation to have on a 5 minute drive to the library. I wish I could know what brought these thoughts to her... You just wonder where it comes from.

On a lighter note today the conversation was entertaining but not much less thought provoking. Annabelle came out into the kitchen making a strange sound with her nose. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "Mommy, I can't finish my yogurt breakfast." I without giving it much thought (I should have thought it over more) asked why?
AB: "I can't eat anymore of my yogurt because I have a toe-nail growing in my nose." She made the funny sound again and said, "See I can't blow it out so I can't eat my yogurt anymore."

Mommy's Little Helper!

We are finally decided on a color and are ready to paint our master bedroom. It's hard to see the exact color but it's a very vibrant green...and it's our accent wall (if it were the whole room we might feel like we are on the inside of a lime) lol. Annabelle was very excited to help mommy paint. Green is her favorite color. We had so much fun! She loved making all of us green! "Daddy's eyes are blue but when I use green paint they have to be green!"
You can make out Daddy on the left followed by AB and then Mommy. She was working on Sahara as well and decided to paint her all the way green!
Daddy is holding a ball which he is throwing AT Mommy! I said, "Do you mean Daddy is throwing the ball and Mommy is catching it?" AB answered "No, Daddy is trying to hit Mommy with the ball!" LOL- Gee Thanks!
It's amazing what little kiddos can come up with when you give the a whole wall to work with!
This may be when she was telling me that Daddy was trying to hit me with the ball. She thought she was pretty funny!
Thanks for your help, Annabelle! You are an amazing artist and a whole lot of fun to work with!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

A Poem For AB's Fantastic Daddy...
He never looks for praises
He's never one to boast
He just goes on quietly working
For those he loves the most...
His dreams are seldom spoken
His wants are very few
And most of the time his worries
Will go unspoken too...

A true friend to turn to
When times are good or bad
One of AB's greatest blessings...
The man she calls her Dad.
When she was a baby,
He would hold her in his arms.
She felt the love and tenderness,
Keeping her safe from harm.
He'll be there... a firm foundation
Through all her storms of life.
A sturdy hand to hold on to
In times of stress and strife...
As she looks up into his eyes,
Only love she will ever see.
She is so very lucky,
He's the dad chosen for our sweet little AB...

I Can Write My Name!

Annabelle wrote her name for the first time today! AB is her nickname but having a name with nine letters allows for a jumping off point! She has been making 'A's for a few weeks now, but had no interest in the 'B' until this morning. Now she says the 'B' is her favorite. She makes it first when she writes 'AB' and then will go back and adds the 'A'.
Awesome job AB!!!!

Baby Bunnies!

While doing some yard work today, Nick found a bunny nest. He didn't want to mow over the nest so Annabelle and I took the three bunnies from the nest while he mowed the spot and then we put them back, building their nest around them. We are waiting to see if their mommy comes back to nurse them tonight. We looked up facts about bunnies on line and found out that the mommy only has to nurse her babies for about five minutes each day! Wouldn't that be nice! :-) It was an exciting morning with the baby bunnies to take care of. AB was very kind to all three of the bunnies. She'll make a great little helper some day.
Nick also tilled up our garden. We hope to plant tomorrow. We have lots of veggies to plant. Annabelle has been growing a little pumpkin plant as well and it's ready to transfer into the garden too. It will be interesting to see how many bunnies we'll see once those veggies start to grow! They might not be such welcomed guests!
