@ The Zoo on Due Day!!!

What a fun day!  We finally had a chance to check out the new Sting-Ray Petting Pond at the Columbus Zoo.  What a need place.  Annabelle wasn't nervous in the least and really enjoyed touching and scratching their backs.  The best was when about three of them, excited for a chance to get a pet from Miss AB, splashed their fins wildly, drenching AB!  Face, shirt, pants... We were cracking up!
We had our lunch while watching the gorillas.  This Silver-Back kept strutting around for everyone to see.  Annabelle watched him for a while before turning around to say in a shocked tone, "I think that silver-back has bigger muscles than Daddy!"
Baby boy we loved giving you a tour of the Zoo!  Soon enough you'll be here to enjoy it yourself!!  Have I mentioned how excited we all are!!!  :-)

Hello In There.....

Well, it's the day before my due date.  I feel absolutely fabulous.  I've slept like a dream the last two nights, uninterrupted by contractions and only one restroom break...  Walking, and playing as usual with only the inconvenience of not being able to get up from the floor as fast as I usually can.  I've concluded that because I'm so comfortable and Lil Man is so cozy that I'm going to be pregnant for the rest of my life.
Dr. Mini joked at my last appointment saying, "Those boys never want to come out!  Once they do they spend their entire life trying to get back in!"  :-)

Dear Little Man Monty,
I love feeling you move around in my belly.  I love to wonder what you look like...  What your name will be, and the type of little person you'll grow in to.  Many people have said over the past few days that you're going to be stubborn...  I think the opposite.  I think your going to be extremely patient and easy going.  You're just binding your time and waiting for the perfect moment to enter our lives.  There is nothing stubborn about wanting to make a grand entrance!  You just take your time.  However, Dr. Mini says on October 5th your time will be up, so you may want to come on out before that!  :-)  We love you already and can't wait to meet you!
AB has been dying to wear her "BEST SISTER" dress to school as soon as you come.  Until then, grow, rest, wiggle and get ready!  Your family is SO EXCITED TO MEET YOU!!!!!!

Love, Mommy

Baby Boy Montgomery

Each morning when I wake up there is a moment that I wonder, "Will we meet you today?"  You seem to sense when I first open my eyes.  Even if I don't move my body, you seem to know that I've woken up.  This is when I'm greeted each day with your little movements.  A few kicks, and pokes, a turn of your hips...  These little feelings are a miracle and I'm so very happy to have them each morning.  I know that when you do arrive and you're outside of my tummy that I'll miss those little reminders of the amazing miracle it's been to have had you growing in my belly...

"May you always have
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel,
So nothing can harm you."
-Irish Blessing

Little Buddy, know that we are all ready for you!  Whenever you choose to come into this world.
Dresser, Annabelle family portrait, map and chalk drawing of Big Ben.
Big Ben, vintage baby rocker-re-furbished, navy walls and striped ceiling.
I loved this vintage rocker...  It reminded me of the scene from Lady and the Tramp, when the baby arrives and the mother is singing the La La Lu Lullaby...
Daddy chose some wonderful quotes for the little man to ponder as he grows.
Indian Elephants for good luck &  a few globes to study as he drifts off to sleep.
The white canvas' will soon post 8x10-interchangable photos and artwork from Annabelle.
Framed, blown-up matchbox covers from around the world.
Annabelle's family portraits and a something from Mommy's heart.
We excitedly await your homecoming!!!!

Mimzey's Birthday Tea and Apple Picking!

Lots of fun stuff already happening in September!  Annabelle's first week of school, Mimzey's birthday tea and some apple picking (not to mention Mommy's weekend of pampering...more on that one) all before Lil Man Monty makes his big appearance!
AB's fourth day of school was a HUGE improvement.  For those of you who read our last post, she got the 'thumbs up' from her teacher when I picked her up.  AB came running out of the door saying, "I had a great day Mommy!  I helped EVERYONE clean up after free choice today!!"  lol- I guess our discussions sunk in.  :-)
After school on Tuesday, we took Mimzey to tea!  We went to get Great Grams to join us.  It was a fancy fun lunch with three of my most favorite ladies.

This weekend I've had it made in the shade.  Really!!!  Starting Thursday, I had dinner with another fav- Ms. Emily Morris- which was so fun!  Then Saturday, I had a 90 minute facial- which was the most glorious thing I've every experienced!!!  I had a hair appointment!  Bye-bye roots!!  I know, doesn't it sound horrible?!  Then today, on Sunday, I had a mani-pedi!  I am all set!  This was all done for me by my lovely husband, who bought me these spa treatments for my birthday.  :-)  What a wonderful treat to get ready for the arrival of our new little monkey!!
Today, we also went apple picking!  This has got to be one of my favorite fall activities. Our weather couldn't have been more perfect.  We went to CherryHawk Farm in Marysville with a picnic lunch...  It was so much fun!

I have an appt. tomorrow @ 1:30!  We'll see what news that brings...  However, as I'm sitting here updating this blog I've had FOUR very productive contractions...  This happened on Friday night too, but stopped after about 45 minutes.  We'll see........

Back To School!

This smarty pants is ready for her first day of school!!
AB started back to Preschool this week!  She'll go to school 4 days a week and is a Teddy Bear at our local BEARS Preschool.  Annabelle was more than ready to get back to school.  Once her little neighbor friends returned to school, she was a lonely bird on Swansea Rd.  She woke up on her first day excited to see her friends from last year and to spend time with her new teachers in her new classroom!  She had her outfit picked out and wanted her hair curled.  The first day of school was only an hour long.  The preschool does this so it's not as overwhelming for the kiddos or the teachers!  Smart.    When we got to school we ran into Hadley!
Hadley and AB
Jack Boyle and AB- Hadley's mommy called this
'their future prom picture!' lol- we'll see about that, but I know they are super cute!
Jack, AB and Hadley

AB came home from her first day feeling like the day was too short and was excited for day two!  Day two ended with a happy smile and lots to report, but day three ended  a little differently...yep, 3rd day of school and Mommy had to have a conversation with the teacher about AB's behavior!
Apparently, when asked to clean up, Annabelle told the teacher she would like to clean up another area of the room (an area that was already clean- she's crafty) When the teacher insisted, AB proceeded to clean-up at a turtles pace, watching as the other kiddos in the group were cleaning faster (getting the job done for her- like I said crafty)  So her teacher who is also very crafty- let the others proceed to the carpet and had AB finish the job on her own...  (She gotcha there AB!-lol)
I knew something was up when her teacher handed me a hand written memo.  It wasn't the memo but AB's reaction to the memo that let me know we better stay and see what happened...  When I was handed the note AB said with a concerned look on her face, "Mommy? What is that note that Ms. Leslie gave to you?  What does the note say?"  lol- again trying to be crafty!

Needless to say, AB is at school now on her 4th day of school.  She had a few conversations with Mommy and Daddy about listening to her teacher and not talking back or telling the teacher what she'd be doing...  lol-  Watch out world, this is one determined girl!  It may cause a few hiccups a long the way, but she's bound to take that determination and do great things when she gets bigger!  (Just don't get in her way!) -LOL!!!

Reports of day four -and future days to come!  We're all so glad that lil man monty has waited for AB to get back into the 'swing' of school before making his arrival.  :-)  Although, at this point, AB's not acknowledging him at school.  When asked to draw a picture of her family she drew-herself, her daddy, Sahara and her mommy- making a point to tell the teacher, "This is Mommy before Baby Brother was in her belly.  See her skinny tummy."  When the teacher asked if she wanted to include baby brother in the picture because he'd be coming very soon AB answered, "No, I like it just like this..."  lol-

Speaking of the lil man.  I am still just over a cm dilated and 75% effaced.  I feel great and would love for him to hang out in Mama's belly as long as he'd like.  With that said, I did feel the need to move my hair appt. and Mani-Pedi appt. up to this weekend instead of their original times, next week.  I just want to make sure to squeeze those in before the big arrival!  Mother's intuition???  Who knows.   We'll see what Monday's appointment brings.
