Three Weeks Old

On Friday, I scheduled Anne Marie's one month doctors appointment! One month is almost complete. I cannot believe it. It is the weirdest sensation... Each day feels pretty long and some nights an eternity yet three weeks have flown by. Many people have asked if we've ventured out into the world a lot yet...my answer is NO WAY! If you live in Ohio you can imagine why. It's been soooo cold lately. I can't justify anything more than doctors visits right now. I've been lucky to have family over during the day at times, who will watch Annabelle while I do some running around town. It has been nice to get out of the house but I do miss Annabelle the entire time I'm out. Last weekend, Nick and I went out for a quick bite while Nana and Ted stayed with Anne Marie. It was hysterical, because our date consisted of dinner (where we talked all about our baby.) Followed by a trip to Babies R Us (to buy and breast pump!) How romantic! Followed by ice cream (to go of course because we missed Annabelle!) Life has certainly changed for us! Annabelle's third week of life marked a few firsts. She had her first full bath! She celebrated her Dano's birthday and she fit into newborn outfits!!! Mommy had a first as well... A whole week went by and she didn't call the doctor once! I did refer to my baby books quite often but no doctor calls. :) Aren't you all so proud! We hope everyone is doing great and staying warm. For those of you in South Carolina...I'm missing you like crazy right now. I know it's cold to y'all down there this time of year but trust me...it's not! Love to all!

Week 2

We want Annabelle to grow but these weeks are going by too fast for her mommy. I can't believe Annabelle has been home with us for two whole weeks. All of those experienced moms that told me to cherish every moment because it goes by too fast knew just what they were talking about. Annabelle had a big 2nd week of life. We went to the doctor for a weigh in and to talk to the doc about some tummy problems we've been having. We thought at first that it could be colic but instead we found out that it is acid reflux. Anne Marie is actually on baby zantac to help comfort her after feedings. We've been on the medicine for about 3 days and it does seem to be helping. Annabelle weighed 6lbs 11oz (It was actually 6lb 14lb but she had a wet diaper...) She is doing a fantastic job eating as you can guess by her very good weight gain. I never thought that I would say the words "Good job!" after someone belches... or discuss diaper business with anyone who will listen to me...but motherhood changes you in a lot of ways! Thanks bunches for all of the cards and gifts you have sent to our home. We really appreciate your thoughts, prayers and well wishes! Before I sign off Annabelle wanted me to do a special shout out to her Dano! It's his birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANO! We can't wait for you to get home from Florida!

My First week Home

Annabelle Marie is a blessing! Nicholas and I cannot get
enough of her. She is the sweetest little baby. The emotions you feel as a parent are overwhelming. I have loved every second of being a new mommy and I know that Nick feels the same way. Annabelle's week was full of visits from family and friends... It included a not so great first impression of The Ohio State Buckeyes...however she was dressed to impress in her little Buckeye outfit. She has adjusted to home pretty well and loves to look around and take it all in. I have some more pictures...of course. I have a feeling I am going to become a bit of a Pat Newman in terms of picture taking...Those who know her well know just what I'm talking about. Enjoy! Love to all!

Annabelle Marie Montgomery

Annabelle Marie was born January 4th, 2008 at 6:21pm. She is absolutely perfect! She weighed in at 6lbs 14oz and measured 19.2 inches long. Nick and I are absolutely in love as only parents can be... I could sit and stare at her for days. We came home from the hospital yesterday. Annabelle loved the car ride (she slept the whole way home.) It is such a nice feeling being home and cozy. I will update more later...but I know everyone is more interested in seeing some pictures. Enjoy! Love to all!
